In the last 24 hours, around 20 positive Covid-19 cases confirmed, from Islamabad and Rawalpindi district. It makes the telly rise to 21,536 cases in twin cities.
Almost 70 recoveries recorded from Islamabad Capital Territory and Rawalpindi district. This further decreases active cases in the region to 745.
There has been no death for 3 days in both cities. Thus the death toll remains at 455 in ICT and Rawalpindi district.
Earlier, There has been a decline in the Coronavirus curve in the region from 5 to 20 August. But, the trend seems to rise for the last five days as the positive cases surge to around 150.
The total number of COVID-19 cases from the Rawalpindi district stands at 6,005. Around 280 people have lost their lives to the illness. While in Islamabad, the telly of confirmed cases rises to 15,531 with around 175 demises.
However, another 63 patients have recovered from illness in ICT and 7 from Rawalpindi since yesterday. Thus the total number of recoveries tends to be 14,684 and 5,652 in both regions, respectively.
As of now, there are only 73 active cases in the Rawalpindi district. Out of which 4 are getting treatment at Corona Management Center at Rawalpindi Institute of Urology. While 69 confirmed patients are home quarantined. The active cases of Coronavirus in Islamabad are 672.
The second wave of cases spike:
The health experts have predicted the second wave of COVID-19 spike. Since the public has celebrated occasions like Eid ul Azha and 14 August in masses. These kinds of gatherings and celebrations tend to be the source of the outbreak of the virus.
Further, Experts have urged the public to follow SOPs in Muharram ul Haram since it’s the only way to contain the virus outbreak.
COVID-19 cases in Pakistan:
National Command and Operation Center(NCOC) issued recent statistics of Covid-19 cases on Wednesday. According to that, 482 people have been tested positive in the last 24 hours, whereas 12 people have lost their life. The active cases in the country have jumped to 8,987.
A total of 294,193 COVID-19 cases have been detected in the country so far. Sindh tops the chart with 128,676 cases. Punjab and KPK follow with 96,466 and 35,831 cases respectively. 12,664 cases confirmed in Balochistan, 2,265 in AJK, and 2745 in Gilgit Baltistan.
The total number of deaths recorded, due to COVID-19, is 6,267. However, around 278,939 patients recovered, escalating the recovery rate over 90% in the country.
