The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Monday said that green number plate cars are kidnapping people across Pakistan.

The court further remarked that the federal government is failing to provide security to common people.

IHC remarks on missing person case:

The IHC gave the remarks while hearing the case, Abdul Qudoos missing case in particular. Also, IHC’s judge Justice Mohsin Kayani directs the interior ministry and the interior secretary to appear in the missing person case.

Moreover, the IHC also called on the Attorney General Pakistan Khalid Jawed Khan to look into the matter concerning the abduction of Abdul Qudoos. Justice Kayani issued a notice to the Attorney General for judicial assistance saying,

Tell the attorney general that closing one’s eyes will not solve problems. Citizens are being abducted in vehicles with green number plates, the Islamabad police has failed. So should we write to the Sindh police to investigate!

State Counsel Hasnain Haider and JIT head SP investigation appeared before the court. The SP informed the IHC that he had been leading the JIT on 50 people missing from the Islamabad.

The interior secretary informed the IHC that the team conducted a high-level meeting yesterday about the missing person case. He also guaranteed the court that the matter has been the top priority since day 1.

Justice Athar also observed the Sajid Gondal missing case from ICT. He asked the investigation team that is this a case of enforced disappearance. The interior secretary replied that they could not say anything in this matter yet.

The SP told the court that the FIR has lodged against the missing case of Abdul Qudoos on Jan 1, 2020. The SP further informed the court that the police is searching for the missing person right away after the case registered in Karachi company police station.
