‘Enlargement of Flight Operations’ was announced on Sunday by PIA – The national flag carrier airline of Pakistan. Along with the reduction in fares. The additional flights will operate in the major cities of Pakistan; Karachi, Islamabad, Lahore, Quetta, and Peshawar.
Also, some special flights will be operating through Saudia Arabia, Far Eastern Countries, and Iraq. However, all United Arab Emirates (UAE) flights will also be soon commenced as per the spokesperson.
Shocking Reduction in PIA Fares
Pakistan International Airlines – PIA, had recently announced more reductions to the fares of domestic flights. The spokesperson quoted the decrease in fare as a ‘Historic Reduction’. He said,
“The one-way fare from Karachi to Islamabad and from Karachi to Lahore is fixed at Rs9,572, while passengers are allowed to carry 7 kilograms (kg) of hand luggage”
Moreover, the depletion of fares will be seen in effect very soon. Before this news of a decrease in fares, last week PIA declared fixed prices for a one-way ticket. That would include all taxes for traveling to any domestic destination.
PIA’s Powerful Restoration
The European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA), and other European Countries have banned PIA. Because of various pilot’s fake license controversy. Which would bring a loss of Rupees 33 Billion as a result of a six-month suspension of flights.
But now the airline is striving to overcome the loss by increasing the number of domestic flights. The spokesperson added that ‘the demand of people in Pakistan was aggregated before taking the decision’.
And as Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) on May 20th, permitted PIA to restore its domestic flights. The flag carrier airline decided to run two flights a day between Islamabad and Karachi. However, only one flight per day between Lahore, the city of Education.
Earlier Pakistan International Airlines used to run 23 flights to the United Kingdom within a week. Including 10 flights to London, 9 to Manchester and4 to Birmingham. Moreover, PIA operated six flights in Europe. Which flew through Paris, Milan, Barcelona, and Copenhagen.
Whereas, as the Saudia Arabian Government has announced about hosting limited pilgrims. Thus, this year Pakistani Airlines will suffer a huge loss of Rupees 12 Billion. Hence, this year there will be no Hajj flights operating.
This is an appreciatable initiative by PIA for recovering its losses. And for this surely the national flag bearer Flight deserves a round of applause! We just hope that PIA works on it below average conditioned airplanes and the trend of it crashing flights stoop to zero.
