PPP chairperson, Bilawal Bhutto shared a Human Rights Watch report in a tweet on Friday and called out the government for its hypocritical approach towards it.
He quoted HRW regarding the NAB arresting Opposition leaders and other figures who are critical to the PTI government.
Bilawal Bhutto Zardari tweeted:
Human rights watch calls out NAB political victimization of political parties & media. Mentions Saad Rafique, Mir Shakeel-ur-Rehman, myself & my father. We love to quote @hrw on Kashmir but ignore them on Pakistan.

Previously, the Supreme Court of Pakistan ruled on July 20th, that the National Accountability Bureau has violated the rights to a fair trial and due process in the arrest of two opposition politicians, Khawaja Saad Rafique and Khawaja Salman Rafique. The NAB detained them for 15 months without reasonable grounds. The court granted the men bail. And criticized NAB for showing “utter disregard to the law, fair play, equity and propriety,” ruling that the “case was a classic example of the trampling of fundamental rights [and] unlawful deprivation of freedom.”
Furthermore, Bilawal Bhutto has also appeared before NAB on many occasions in the Fake Account case. Recently, B. Bhutto also challenges NAB`s impartiality.
He further said
“I have always said that NAB is being used for political engineering. And now the Supreme Court has also vindicated my stance. NAB should not exist”
Previously In 2019, Human rights Watch pointed out the regressive behavior of the PTI Government towards journalists, activists, and Opposition Leaders.
